Workshops

The workshops below are held in conjunction with A Thrilling Act: The Art of Anthony Eterovich, on view in the Aultman Health Foundation Gallery from June 12 through September 26, 2021. All workshops will take place in person at the Massillon Museum.

Youth Portrait Workshop Series – Wednesdays, July 7, 14, and 21, from 5:30 to 7:30pm

Children in grades 6 through 12 are invited to join Canton-based artist and instructor Tim Carmany during this three-part Youth Portrait Workshop Series on Wednesdays, July 7, July 14, and July 21, 2021, from 5:30 to 7:30pm each week. Students will work with acrylic paint and will learn the basics of portraiture, with each week focusing on a different topic. Subjects will include self-portraits, portraits of famous figures, and animal portraits.

The cost is $45 per MassMu member or $55 per non-member and includes all supplies.

The Art of Estate Archiving – Saturday, July 10, from 1:00 to 3:00pm

Are you an artist, collector, or family member or friend of one who has received an art collection? Join Karen Eterovich, daughter of artist Anthony Eterovich, on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00pm, for The Art of Estate Archiving. Attendees, age 16 and up, will learn about how to begin personal and estate archiving, what resources exist to help you, and how to maintain and use your archive.

This workshop is free for MassMu members and $8 per non-member.

Life Drawing Workshop – Saturday, July 17, from 10:00am to 4:00pm

Join internationally acclaimed artist George Kozmon for a Life Drawing Workshop on Saturday, July 17, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Students will learn the basics of life and figure drawing with a nude model. This workshop is open to ages 18 and older. Registrants should bring a lunch.

The cost is $40/MassMu member or $50/non-member. Students will be provided with paper, charcoal, pencils, and an eraser, and are encouraged to bring any additional materials they would like. It is recommended to bring a drawing board. All media are welcome.

Abstract Art for Kids – Saturday, September 18, from 11:00 to 11:30am

Artist and instructor Emily Vigil will lead an Abstract Art Workshop for children in kindergarten through grade 5 on Saturday, September 18, from 11:00 to 11:30am. Students will learn how to make their own abstract painting. Artwork will be available for pickup beginning on Tuesday, September 21.

The cost is $10/MassMu member or $15/non-member and includes all supplies.
